The new memory card reader online detected the files, and after taking it to the school technicians we have discovered the problem. The camera itself recorded the clips as a high definition file which could not be detected by my laptop, the card itself worked in the technicians windows computerand the clipsopened. However even with the reader the files could not be detected on mac. I will use the christmas holidays to hopefully find out how I can maybe change the file type or if it comes to it I will have to refilm in the new year.
